HEATHENFEST 2009

A conference to be held at The Fleet in Peterborough on Saturday August 8th 

The Festival starts at 10am until 6pm. Their will be a number of Speakers, Workshops, Viking Reenactment by Clan Wulfhar, and storytelling . Their will be a Bar in the evening, Tea and Coffee and a Raffle. Authentic food will also be available as part of the price.

There is a Bar, Disco and Singer as well as a Skaldic contest in the evening(singing, dancing, playing music, poetry best and second best get some vouchers)

Tickets in advance are £8 adults £4 children and inc a meal of Viking Fayre. Tickets on the door are £10 and £5 and include a meal. Tickets for the evening can be sold seperately or as part of the main event.

Campsite available at Northey Lodge Caravan Park. At the junction of Northey Rd.and North Bank where the new Millenium Footbridge crosses the R.Nene. Just basic facilities, no shop or cafe; nearest shops, etc in P'boro. BBQ's & stoves allowed as long as they are at least 15" off the ground & away from trees. I was quoted £10 per night for 2 people in a tent. 3.5 miles from centre of P'boro, no public transport from the North side. 

Queensgate Bus Station - bay 7 - Bus 3 to Whittlesey; 25 min. ride to Funthams Lane on the Kings Dyke road (A605); walk up Funthams Lane, where it bends left take the footpath continuing North, takes you to Millenium Footbridge (One mile walk). From Funthams Lane to Fleet Way Bus 3 or Bus 337 (From P'boro Stn. to Fleet way also).
